What:
Knoxville Aviation Flight Scholarship
A locally sponsored scholarship aimed at helping high school students take flight—in more ways than one.
Why It Matters:
Supports young aspiring aviators in attaining their Private Pilot License.Offers a $5000 award, applied toward completing their Private Pilot License .Available to motivated students ages 16–21 residing within 35 miles of Knoxville Municipal Airport (KOXV).
How Students Qualify:
Must be able to obtain an FAA 3rd Class Medical Certificate.
Must have passed the FAA Private Pilot Written Exam.
Must commit to completing their required training at Knoxville Aviation
Should already have access to funds sufficient to complete their solo flight.
Important Deadlines:
Applications open: September 1, 2025
Deadline: September 30, 2025
Award disbursed:
Immediately after solo—students can then use it toward finishing their Private Pilot training.
Why It’s Special:
Apart from financial support, this scholarship gives students a structured path with local flight instructors, hands-on ground school, and the supportive environment of Knoxville Aviation. It’s a practical stepping stone into a world filled with aviation possibilities.
